Soviet Tenors

Welcome to "Soviet Tenors"!
This site is a personal project the goal of which is to assemble as thorough as possible list of prominent Soviet tenors of the 20th century. Most of these vocalists were born at the beginning of the 20th century and performed mainly in the period of 1930s-1950s, a period which is considered the "Golden Era" of Soviet opera and vocal art. This site aims to provide as full as possible biographical data for every singer and a certain number of his recordings that can give a basic grasp of his style and professional level of singing.
